Suboxone is a prescribed drug that contains buprenorphine and naloxone, and it is used to treat opiate use disorders. It works by inhibiting the body’s craving to use opiates and minimizes withdrawal symptoms. After a comprehensive evaluation, suboxone can be prescribed and picked up at your local pharmacy. Follow-up visits are individualized per patient, but treatment generally decreases to monthly appointments.
